Performance Of Islamic Religious Education Supervisors In Central Aceh District
Performance Of Islamic Religious Education Supervisors In Central Aceh District
Abstract
This study aims to analyse the performance of supervisors in improving the quality of Islamic religious education in the region. This research focuses on several aspects, namely the role of supervisors in academic and managerial supervision, the strategies used to support teacher performance, and the factors that influence the success and obstacles faced by supervisors in carrying out their duties. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, with a field study approach. The research subjects included Islamic religious education supervisors, school principals and teachers in Aceh Tengah district. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis, which were then analysed using thematic analysis techniques. The results show that supervisors have a strategic role in improving the quality of learning through guidance to teachers, curriculum development and teacher performance evaluation. However, there are some challenges, such as limited resources, lack of professional training and suboptimal operational support. On the other hand, collaborative strategies between supervisors, principals and teachers proved effective in overcoming most of these obstacles. The study recommends that local governments and the Ministry of Religious Affairs strengthen supervisor training programmes, increase resource allocation and expand inter-agency cooperation to support the role of supervisors in a sustainable manner
