Purpose of the study: In Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kegemaran membaca yang dimiliki oleh siswa di SMPN 19 kota jambi berdasarkan indikator sikap terhadap membaca dan indikator pandangan negatif siswa terhadap membaca.
Methodology: Penelitian ini termasuk kedalam penelitian explanatory desain. Data kuantitatif diperoleh menggunakan angket dan data kualitatif diperoleh menggunakan lembar wawancara
Main Findings: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas peserta didik memiliki pandagan yang positif terhadap membaca.
Applications of this study: Penelitian ini berguna untuk memberikan gambaran tentang minat membaca.
Novelty/Originality of this study: Keterbaruan dalam penelitian ini adalah karakter kegemaran membaca.
