Focus and Scope

GeoEdu Insight Journal (GeoEd.Ins.J.) is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal published biannually (April and October) dedicated to disseminating advances in knowledge and research in the fields of Geography and Geography Education, both in Indonesia and within the global context of developing countries. Committed to academic excellence, GeoEdu Insight Journal publishes comprehensive original research articles and invited review papers from leading scholars and practitioners in Geography and Geography Education.

The selection criteria prioritize manuscripts that demonstrate high scientific merit, present novel contributions, and provide significant impact on the development of geographical science and geography education. The journal emphasizes studies that contribute to the improvement of teaching, learning, evaluation, and curriculum development in geography at school and higher education levels, as well as research that advances geography as a scientific discipline.

GeoEdu Insight Journal encompasses original research articles and scholarly reviews in, but not limited to, the following areas:

1. Geography Education
This scope includes research on innovative teaching strategies, curriculum development, assessment and evaluation, learning media and instructional technology, digital and GIS-based learning, character education, environmental literacy, and sustainable education in geography. The journal also encourages studies integrating local wisdom, cultural geography perspectives, and contextual learning approaches that contribute to educational policy and classroom practice.

2. Human Geography
Research addressing social, cultural, economic, and political dimensions of spatial phenomena, including urban and rural studies, population studies, regional development, globalization, and spatial planning.

3. Physical Geography
Studies related to geomorphology, climatology, hydrology, biogeography, environmental change, disaster risk reduction, and natural resource management.
