The system is designed to combine the functions of agricultural equipment rental and savings & loans in a single platform to enhance operational efficiency, recording accuracy, and financial report transparency.

Methodology: This research employed a qualitative approach with the prototype system development method. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The system was designed using Data Flow Diagram (DFD) and Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) modeling, implemented using the PHP programming language and MySQL database, and tested using the black-box testing method.

Main Findings: The research produced an information system with four user levels (members, treasurer, secretary, chairman) capable of managing rental transactions, savings & loans, installments, and report generation. Black-box testing proved that all system functions operate effectively, accelerating the data search process, minimizing recording errors, and increasing transparency of fund management for members.

Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research lies in the development of an integrated web-based information system that combines the two main functions of UPJA (agricultural equipment rental and savings & loans) in a single interconnected platform with multi-level users, utilizing the prototype method that involves users intensively. This system contributes to the digitalization of rural agricultural institutions through an integrated model that enhances data synergy and business governance.
Devi Guriani Titis Sagita Copyright (c) 2026 Devi Guriani, Titis Sagita https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2026-02-28 2026-02-28 1 1 8 15 Development of Academic Information System to Improve School Service Quality at SMK Negeri 1 Pundong https://cahaya-ic.com/index.php/SYNAPSI/article/view/2860
Purpose of the study: This study aims to develop a desktop-based Academic Information System (AIS) and analyze its effect on improving school service quality at State Vocational High School 1 Pundong through integrated management of teacher data, student data, employee data, inventory, correspondence, and schedules.

Methodology: The study employed Research and Development (R&D) method with waterfall model (needs analysis, design, coding, testing). The system was developed using Borland Delphi 7 programming language and Microsoft Access database. Data were collected through unstructured interviews and needs analysis questionnaires distributed to 86 teachers and staff, as well as black box testing and performance testing by experts and users.

Main Findings: Expert testing results obtained a score of 83.75% (very good) and user testing obtained 86.81% (very good). Service Quality-based functionality testing achieved 86.33% with the highest dimension on Tangibles (89.33%). The system successfully integrated eight main menus and proved to increase service speed (95%) and ease of operation (91.25%).

Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research lies in the development of a comprehensive AIS that integrates eight school management functions into one integrated platform, as well as evaluating its impact on service quality through active user participation since the needs analysis stage, differing from previous studies that only focused on single functions such as grade management or student admission.
Astrid Puspita Dhea Eka Putri Copyright (c) 2026 Astrid Puspita, Dhea Eka Putri https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2026-02-28 2026-02-28 1 1 16 22 Semantic Object Model-Based Database Design for Archive Management: A Case Study at the South Sumatra Provincial Archives Service https://cahaya-ic.com/index.php/SYNAPSI/article/view/2858
Purpose of the study: This research aims to design an integrated archive database system using the Semantic Object Model (SOM) approach to address the challenges of slow archive retrieval, high risk of loss, and non-compliance with Archive Retention Schedules at the South Sumatra Provincial Archives Service

Methodology: This qualitative research employed observation, interviews, and document analysis at the South Sumatra Provincial Archives Service. The database design followed three phases of SOM: conceptual (identifying semantic objects from archive forms and reports), logical (transforming objects into table relations), and physical (implementing in MySQL DBMS).

Main Findings: The research identified 19 semantic objects transformed into integrated database tables covering all archive types (active, inactive, vital, and static records). The design includes retention period attributes supporting Archive Retention Schedule compliance, with successful MySQL implementation.

Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces a comprehensive SOM-based archive database model integrating dynamic, vital, and static records with lending, media transfer, and retention control procedures in a unified design. Unlike previous semantic web applications focused on general data integration, this research addresses the specific regulatory requirements of government archive management based on actual user needs.
Utama Khalid Lubis Joni Karman Copyright (c) 2026 Utama Khalid Lubis, Joni Karman https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2026-02-28 2026-02-28 1 1 23 28 Web-Based Geographic Information System for Mapping and Spatial Visualization of Cultural and Historical Tourism Objects in Makassar City https://cahaya-ic.com/index.php/SYNAPSI/article/view/2857
Purpose of the study: This research aims to develop a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) for mapping and visualizing the spatial distribution of cultural and historical tourism objects in Makassar City, integrating location coordinates, access routes, and descriptive information into an interactive digital platform accessible to the public and stakeholders.

Methodology: This study employed a descriptive qualitative method with a system development approach. The research stages included planning, data collection through interviews and observations at the Makassar City Culture and Tourism Office, and system development using ArcView 3.3 for map digitization, ALOV Map v.096 as the WebGIS framework, PHP programming language, and MySQL database.

Main Findings: The research successfully produced a web-based GIS application displaying 20 cultural and historical tourism sites across Makassar City, complete with coordinate points and descriptive information. The system integrates supporting spatial data including 14 sub-district boundaries, 143 urban village boundaries, 20 main roads, and river networks, all accessible through an interactive map interface with navigation features (zoom in, zoom out, pan, recenter) and query capabilities.

Novelty/Originality of this study: This study presents the first integrated WebGIS specifically designed for Makassar's cultural heritage that combines multi-layer spatial data with dynamic content management capabilities. The innovation lies in utilizing ALOV Map's client-side processing architecture to reduce server load during high-access periods, integrated with real-time content management features for tourism news and events, transforming the previously restricted internal system into an open-access platform that advances regional cultural promotion and supports data-driven tourism management.
Hafiz Aulia Dedek Elvianti Copyright (c) 2026 Hafiz Aulia, Dedek Elvianti https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2026-02-28 2026-02-28 1 1 29 37 Web-Based Monitoring Application to Enhance the Effectiveness of Character Building Training (CBT) Mentoring in Higher Education https://cahaya-ic.com/index.php/SYNAPSI/article/view/2856
Purpose of the study: This research aims to design and develop a web-based monitoring application to enhance the effectiveness of mentoring activities in the Character Building Training (CBT) program at UIN Alauddin Makassar by facilitating scheduling, digital verification, and real-time progress monitoring.

Methodology: This study employs a Design and Creation approach with a Waterfall development model.
